This lecture started off with a tutorial about designing and creating a CV with Adobe InDesign. I have personally never used InDesign before so I found this tutorial to be really useful.
After the tutorial one to one sessions were held to receive feedback on the CV and Cover Letter
Feedback that I received –
CV –
- I had previously used word document to create my CV and cover letter and it was suggested to me that I should try creating it with an actual design tool such as InDesign or Figma.
- It was also suggested that my CV layout should be completely vertical instead of having sections beside each other
- I was told that the content of my CV and cover letter were good, the only change that I had to make was to the skills, qualities and capabilities section. The sections should all be added together and do not need a line to explain them.
- It was also suggested that I add actual references instead of suggesting that they would be given upon request as just having the reference makes things easier for the employer.
Cover Letter –
- The only feedback given for cover letter was to redesign it using InDesign or another design software
I found all of the feedback that I was given to be really helpful and I planed to incorporate them all into my CV and cover letter
