By week four illustrating interfaces was the main topic, class started by taking a look through different interfaces and seeing what others had created

Illustration in UI should be:-
- Meaningful
- Recognisable
- Preferably straightforward and unambiguous
- Clarifying
- Attractive
- Harmonic and corresponding with general stylistic concept
- Improving usability and user experience in general
- Not overloading the screen or page
These 7 things are very important when it comes to illustration in UI as without it the illustration may become a negative as it will bring down the UI instead helping the UI be better.
Illustration can be used in UI for various different reasons, such as –
- Onboarding
- Theme and Style
- Rewards
There are also various types of illustration, such as –
- Mascots and Characters
- Iconic
- Thematic
- Diagrammatic
- Data Visualisation (is what will be used later on during infographic development)
- Hyper Realistic
- Simple Vectors
- Hand Drawn
Illustration is not limited, as you can see from the list above illustration is possible in various different ways and there’s a way to suit each designer.
Personally I am still trying to find my certain style of illustration but I am having a lot of fun trying out the different styles.
