Homework: Character

This weeks homework was to create character(s) for our groups worlds. Since I was in the 1920s Supernatural, I really wanted to create a fungus/mushroom character. A part of our world was that the supernatural creatures are seperated from humans but there is a magical powder that will transform you into one of these creatures. Mushrooms are know to realise spores like that of powder and also can cause pyscological effects. I didn’t end up giving this character a name but I made him humanoid and dressed him in 1920s era clothing. I gave him a scar over one of his eyes in the shape of a shittake mushroom, aquired by persumable a human. Then on the top of his head and his hair, I was inspired by Oyster mushrooms and their flat heads; I thought this would give him a more interesting silhouette so he’d be more recognisable. I also gave him elf ears and fangs to match with the supernatural domain, as their domain is very mystical. I wanted him to have a very shy personality as mushrooms normally stay hidden, hence his crouched over posture and face scartch. I wanted to him to have a intimating side as well, with the abillity produce mushrooms from his body, e.g. the Enoki mushroom growing from his tongue and eyes that glow when he is denfensive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Switching to final groups

This week we got to pick our groups that we’d like to stay in to complete our Assignment with. I knew from the start that I was very attached to the Spirit Sky Fish idea as I suggest it back in week 1 to my group. The story seems to carry a lot of potential so I wanted to see it through.

Our Final group members turned out to be:

We all dicussed what has changed through out the weeks and not too much had. The main changes were:

• we were going to use artic creatures rather than just fish
• There would be no war (too ambitious)
• The main character would be a young girl who lost her parent(s)

Once we establised that we liked that brief plot when also comfirm which each creature would reprsent in our world:

• Artic Hare – Denial
• Elephant Seal – Anger
• Artic Fox – Bargining
• Polar Bear – Depression
• Whale – Depresion

• Aunties (took Amka after her late parent)
