Email task

This weeks lecture Daniel talked about how to write good work emails and one of our tasks this week was to write mock emails to practice this skill, see screenshot of task below. I didn’t have to complete all 6 I had to pick the ones that I wanted to write.

My chosen 3 and my email attempts:

1.Sending a link to review work:

2. To client requesting content that is a past due and necessary to progress:

3. Asking for clarification on something you didn’t understand from a team member:

Reflection and what did I learn?

This was actually a lot more challenging than I had originally anticipated. I decided to pick 3 topic from the 6 that would challenge me the most. I think that with work emails its about getting the right balance between client and work colleagues and this was challenging as I haven’t really needed to think like this when emailing before. This challenge was actually really beneficial for when I start placement, I want to make sure I use the correct email language for my colleagues and that I sound professional; this was great practice for that. I learned a lot from this task, I learned to keep them short and to the point, I learned it is important to have a really good subject line too! I think my emails sound good, I think they come across professional and they aren’t too wordy, I tried to keep the language simple and straight to the point- no messing around! I think with more practice and over time I will get better at this.
