Pre-Class Homework

We followed the online lesson content for form and shape and did some homework that was to be handed in first class.

It started with warm-ups.

The first warm-up was long strokes from the top of the canvas to the bottom of the canvas.

The second warm-up was lines from top to bottom side to side, while adjusting the pressure I placed on the pen.

The third was trying to make quick straight lines.

The fourth was drawing many circles.

The fifth was long ‘s’ shapes that I drew overlapping multiple times.

The sixth was drawing 2D shapes and then turning them 3D.

The seventh was using a circle and a rectangle to make a little flour sack character, this was really fun!

We then for homework had to pick 3 characters and break them into shapes. I picked Umaru- Chan from “Himouto! Umaru-Chan”, Mimikyu from “Pokémon” and Abbey Bominable from “Monster High”.

I picked pretty soft characters that all have sharp accents which wasn’t intentional. I found this a very interesting homework piece as it is fun to see what makes up characters that you like, Also the aspect of making them almost 3D mapped when they are 2D characters was interesting to me.
