With the Animation Strategies module I had a lot of challenges where I learnt more about animation.
In the process of my work, I had a lot of fun researching different steps where I learnt how to make new commands, I enjoyed doing really cool assignments in class that helped me practice a lot.
In the research I was able to learn more about how to use blender in the animation part (Time & Graph) which were basic techniques of walking commands, walking with personality, running and running with personality in the rigging functions in the character made me have different points of view in the animation where I learnt new points that were interesting and different points!
Therefore, with the exercises that were given to us in class and also at home, they made me practice a lot and have a better idea of where to animate, in this work I was able to have more knowledge in a new Toon Boom software where I worked with the 2D part but to be honest I didn’t have much ease in using it because it was all new commands; for the second exercise it was using 3D where I didn’t have much difficulty as for 2D as for 3D I really enjoyed doing and practicing the basic parts of animating in character.
After practising some exercises I had to select a style of animation that was 3D so I started to prepare the animation commands, in the animation I didn’t have much difficulty but I had some doubts in the Graph Editor part and mainly in the positions of the body of the snow a character that was offered to us to make a 3D animation ( https://studio.blender.org/characters/snow/v2/ ) and also the rain ( https://studio.blender.org/characters/5f1ed640e9115ed35ea4b3fb/v2/ ). To animate I used the two characters that made me learn a lot about how to animate a character from scratch, my tutor helped me a lot in the process by giving me some feedback on how the animation was going, which was excellent and helped me a lot to improve and understand what was wrong with the animation process, which because it was a new area I couldn’t understand, but after everything was done I made some changes to the animation and managed to fix what I needed to do in the animation.
After the whole process I had some very annoying problems in the process that were a very long delay in rendering my file, I had problems that left me very stressed and worried about the deadline, some files I had problems with after long hours I managed to render and finish the animation. In my opinion, if I could have had a little more time, I would have improved my animation by making the character’s arms more fluid and also the details of the top of the character, which for me were not very good.
But even with all these delays and problems; I had fun doing it and I found this sand very interesting; I’m going to study this part of the animation more so that I can acquire more knowledge and understanding in the points that I had a lot of doubts MAINLY in the rendering part where I had a lot of problems in the files I couldn’t render the Walk Cycle file but I tried to do it in a way that worked like recording the screen to at least have a file delivery.
With everything that happened in the animation process, this module was a lot of fun and very interesting to learn and improve my knowledge of how to work with body movements as if they were ‘anatomy’. I really enjoyed animating and understanding my doubts and strengths better too!
