Walks with Personality [WEEK 3]

Before we got into the animation part, we looked at different walks that have some added spice into the pattern. Found some of them pretty entertaining to watch which we then heavily used for reference which I might also grab some inspiration for my own walks.

BLENDER

In Blender, I continued from the snow rig to animate a sad lil guy and this is how far I got with it in class.

Since I was to focus more on hand drawn animation, I’ve decided to not spend any more of my time and focus on that. I do enjoy animating it in 3D though, pretty neat and fun to play around with adjusting areas to give it personality but I’m just a lil more comfortable in 2D.

TOON BOOM

In toon, we were just tasked to add in the in between actions from the file. From this whole experience, I just realise how awkward it is to move frames around, as I drag it may overwrite some frames and not being able to change the pen transparency also makes it difficult. It’s pretty annoying and having to control Z until I get the frames I need back takes up a lot of time.

In the end I’ll be using Clip Studio to make my animation, it’s easier to manage and I believe I can produce a much cleaner and nicer animation than using Toon Boom.
