In my last blog I mentioned having jetpack animations, these will hopefully be the last animations needed for the main character while I go help with some environment assets:

Out of the blue they also needed this too ☻they don’t have half of my animations and any of Kaitlin’s NPCS in so it’s a little rough.
ABADONED
We originally were going to include pushing objects around and moving them but Logan & Clio in the end decided to trash the idea though I’ve sent this work in progress into the discord over Easter and got no comments from them, luckily I wasn’t working on this so I didn’t waste too much time having assets that won’t be displayed in the game.
And now my work from the asset list is completed. I’ll try helping my group in other areas before focusing on other assignments ☻

LEVEL DESIGN
None of the games people really did any level design, I have been promised by Logan and Clio some level design before Easter so that Tori can work on assets which never came along. It’s slightly annoying as I’ve kept on schedule with all my task. Here are my few level design made which will then be selected by the group to what they want. I took what the games people had level designed out and drew on top, if this was made sooner with more rooms It’s would’ve been easier designing the whale.



I had given them notices but since I couldn’t still get a hold of the games people, I just went with the animation people who had voted the second design since it was already similar to what Tori had made earlier on which isn’t going to be used.

I sent them 2 level design ideas, I’m waiting for feedback but this is what they look like. I’m focusing more on the room layout and where the tasks are laid out before worrying too much on design. I made sure to not change too much of the ground level design since the games people already had a few bits and pieces done for that.

In the end, my group decided on 2 and now it’s getting ready of it done for next week.
ENVIRONMENT DESIGN
I’m also going to draw and design some environment assets for Tori who is mainly in charge of making the 3D assets. Here are just some of the concepts I’ve came up with, most of these will be decided for Tori on which one she likes more and the rest of the group just to see which one will fit the art style more.
There isn’t any style guide really on the environment but we know what the texture looks like for them roughly, it’s a bit of a struggle.

NPCS
Here are just a few NPCS I was also asked to design near the end of the project. I hate the connected head and body, when bean boy was put beside them it looked better. I’m not a big fan but since it’s what was preferred in the art guide, I’ll stick to the right ones. More will be seen on my Portfolio.

Finally that I’m done with this assignment. I wish my team mates would send in more of their work in progress in for feedback, communicated more to each other. This assignment was not enjoyable as I thought it would be, really the only thing that was enjoyable was the end knowing I didn’t have to try to get a response from the games people, getting lied to about work being sent in or that they’ll help us in certain areas. I could be better at managing a schedule overall for my group but it’s hard when there’s so little effort from people. I believe I did good in the areas I had control.
Github is a mess as the owner of the project dropped out, there’s random ones the games have created with very random names, nothing ever felt organised on their side which ruined my mood through out this assignment.
