Run Cycles/Personality Run Cycles[WEEK 4+5]

From this week, I have realised I’m leaning more of the 2D animation so I spent most of my time focusing on those exercises than 3D which I kind of just looked over and took notes. Here below is the keyframes of a basic run which I did a really awful drawing of in Toonboom.

TOONBOOM

The anatomy of this creature just shouldn’t have existed but it was just an exercise to get a rough idea of how the run should be drawn. It’s also pretty slow and I should’ve angled the body even more to make it look like it’s running. Again, Toon Boom is a struggle to use so this will be the last time I’m using this program.

Not much was said about personality run so I had dug around online for a quick and simple video on how to give a run personality (Spoilers, I struggled a lot in that):

I had also in a previous blog about how useful, but still, this video helps a lot with understanding the physics along with the provided visuals and overall references.

BLENDER

This was the guide provided for the 3D work which comparing it to the 2D, not much difference apart from that the front the side to side action also needs a lot of attention compare to the walk. Again, I don’t think I would be submitting any 3D work in this assignment but it could be useful in the future when trying out 3D animation in my own time.
