My group had started research pretty early on since the Easter Break, we also had a poster layout sketched down by the second week. First, we had a few topic choices provided from Chloë, from the topics she’s provided, we looked into Studio Ghlibi and then picked a few other topics around it.
POSTER DESIGN
Now for the layout, I had slapped down a ‘draw together’ link for everyone in the group so that there isn’t just one person drawing and everyone watching. There was also small collection of other research poster designs we looked into for inspiration.

The shape of the boxes didn’t look right, it felt slightly awkward so the next layout I decided to take charge again and pull up a layout like this.

This was a pretty good base so everyone else then started adding in small elements of change to it. In this part I didn’t do much apart from working on how I wanted my section, since I’m looking into the history of Miyazaki, why not pull up a time line. Something I’m familiar with in history class.

From here on, we did try out colouring this together but it was so ugly mainly due to that fact everyone had very different aesthetic and ideas. I suggested to split up and work on it, send in a version of our own so we can then go into another call and select elements from each and combine them,

In the end, this is what the final design looks like when combined together.

RESEARCH
For my side of research, as shown above, I looked into the history of Miyazaki. Not only that I went in and looked into some film’s story that may have a connection or something similar to Miyazaki so that it’s not just a timeline.

We do plan on doing another call to clean the poster up and drop in our research into the poster to see if it fits. It hasn’t been decided since the other module is taking quite a chunk of our time.
