This week we looked into lighting. Before coming back, during my break I had looked into some videos that specifically looked into Blender settings about lighting and some other videos speaking about how to use the lights effectively. Here are the videos I looked into after finishing most of my animation.
This video explains the basic of basics for Blender Lighting, it’s pretty good for starters but since I know most of it, I skimmed through it.
This was more of funky town lighting showing how different ways to capture cool effects, sadly don’t think it’ll be useful for our animation as it uses mainly to render a single image but maybe I’m just not trying too hard at the moment. Maybe I’ll take some inspiration in the future and play around with these?
This video will most likely be visited by me over and over again, I really liked how it didn’t just have a single object rather a whole ass scenery set up. As he plays around light to different settings, it can capture different emotions and effects.
CLASS
The lecture for light was pretty straight forward. Maybe since I had watched videos before coming into class I already have some knowledge on the basics. I was provided with a blender file of monkey heads to play around with and test out some things, along with them, I also have two videos provided to look at.
From the two I found this video much more useful, it takes me through the steps of creating a better render piece of work from shadows to smaller details. Now with my gathered knowledge into this small ape brain, here’s just a small collection of the monkeys in different light settings. First one being the default and then the following being my tests.
