World Creation : Picking Parts & Design [WEEK 7]

Below is just a few screen shots of the group chat discussing.  Surprisingly enough the parts were filled within an hour as most people wouldn’t have responded when we were in our groups during class, not only in class, it was also in that chat. Generally it was annoying trying to get everyone involved also that I was new to the group I didn’t want to be pushy.

After this small conversation, I started slicing parts up and colour coding them making it visually easier to read. I also went by first come first served system to create some sort of pressure so that people would come and pick parts they want to avoid parts they disliked, it somewhat did as some of the less active people in the group came just to grab a part.

As most group projects, I usually like to get to know people in my group so we can have a balance of being serious and on topic while having some time to joke around. Anyway, this is the list for what parts people in my group are animating. The only wise step from here is to now create some storyboard for our own section and place them side by side to see if they’ll flow smoothly and make sense. We also need to get past the point of designing as it’s just adding on more than we need, we just need to draw the characters in our style and compare.

Now focusing on my parts, this week I created a quick outline of the character and bucket filled it in with some colours to share with the group, looking at some other’s work that had completely different colour palettes. I can confidentially say my choices of colour for the human is off to what the original idea is, I can see the repeating colour palette in other’s design but again. The plan for when we get together again is that I’ll replace the colour with what the group decided and hopefully get out storyboard finished.

Completed in my Art Style 2 which is more cartoonish
