Week 1 IXD302 Aspirations of work

Within this post, I will be listing and describing some of the companies I love throughout the UK and abroad. This is an important first step into the world of UX it will allow me to cater my skills in the long run for one of these companies and see who else is out there living on UX street.

Codal:

Location: Lincoln, England

I was attracted to this company first off by their amazing website, upon viewing some case studies I saw that Codal has worked on solving real-world design problems particularly in the ways scientists researching and working to cure epilepsy. This issue does not affect me but it seemed like an opportunity to do some real-world good. A project such as this would give me a real sense of job satisfaction.

DEPT:

Location: Manchester, England

This company is Boston-based which tells me there may be opportunities to deal with problems both in the UK and abroad. They have worked with both Tesla and Sony. When it comes to clients they pack some heavy hitters. I enjoy some pressure I believe it makes me thrive and working with such globally dominant companies would provide me with the challenge I enjoy in life.

Plug & Play:

Location: London, England

This company is very appealing to me from a moral standpoint. I enjoy their work with a carbon footprint calculator for the WWF. Clients like this tell me something about the company. The idea of working in London is also a good opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the countries best in all creative fields not just UX/UI.

Blind, inc:

Location: Los Angeles , USA

The reason why I am interested in a company on the other side of the world is because of one designer in particular. his name is Chris Do, a very talented designer, and entrepreneur. He runs a Youtube channel of the company called “The Futur” the purpose of the channel is to educate young creative entrepreneurs in their field and what to expect in the industry. Blind has worked with companies such as Microsoft creating beautiful graphic designs and brands for companies of all sizes.
