Art direction is the ability to direct an image in order to convey a message in a way that allows the image to speak for itself. It is often found in magazines, movies, music videos and much more. An art director is not necessarily the one taking the picture or creating the image but ensures that their vision for the project is projected. They will ensure there is room for any text they need in the final product or will use font or other images to link to the overall picture and send their intended message. A major example of this is with Baron and Baron. The style and colours of their font is one of the main ways that they will connect the main picture of the model to the context of the article.
In this article we see how the main letters are shaped and positioned the same way that the model is while also allowing room for the main section of text. As well as this they have used similar colours as what the model is wearing to represent her. The model is also positioned to look towards the writing, this draws our attention to the main body of text.
