In this assignment, I was tasked with adding colour to various different environments. Let’s take a look at the blank canvas I’ll be working on:
This is the blank canvas I will be using for the first two coloured images.
This image has the colour pallet I want to use for colouring in the blank canvas, this specific mix of colours in terms of emotions is called ‘delight.’
This is how the first image turned out using the ‘delight’ colour pallet. I am happy with how this ended up as the colours mix very well together, now to move on to the second image.
For the second image, I am only allowed to use one colour. So I found this image which has mostly purple in it. This specific type of purple emotion’s wise is called ‘Tranquillity’ and is the next colour pallet I would like to use.
This is how the blank canvas looks with the ‘Tranquillity’ colour pallet and I like this one even more that the ‘Delight’colour pallet as all the different shades of purple kind of naturally and seamlessly merge together, but still retain enough definition where you could tell apart a rock from water or a mountain from a tree even though all these things are all the same colour.
For my final coloured piece of work for this assignment, I had to choose a thumbnail/concept idea from my teams story, turn it into an image and then add colour to it. I ended up using a simple concept of a run down lab and used a variation of mainly greens and blues to give that kind of hospital meets nature atmosphere where one is constantly fighting the other.
