Week 14 – Final Models

Final Models

This week I made the last 2 models I needed to make. The group realised that we needed to make clocks for the house as we plan to have the clock chime at certain points in the game. I volunteered to make the 2 types. A mantel clock and a grand father clock.

I started with the grand father clock. I found a reference image to help me and I started by resizing a cube to the right size, then matching the silhouette of the reference image with it. This took a little while but eventually I had finished the clock model. The hardest part was making the clock face round as I had to make a bunch of extra cuts and shape them into a circle. below shows the reference image and model.

I then UV mapped and textured it. I used a varnished dark wood for the base material then painted on the clock faces and small door on the front. I was asked by Christopher to not put the clock hands on as they can be created and moved in Unreal. Below shows the final clock.

Finally I made the smaller mantel clock. For this I again used a reference image and began with a low poly cylinder which i extruded and manipulated into something similar to the reference. Below shows the image and the model.

I textured it the same way as the grand father clock so they both look the same. Except for the one I added the brass ring around the face like the reference image did.

That was the last model I have to make. I am now finished with the asset list. All I have left to do is implement my assets into the projects unreal scene and help finish building the world.
