Week 2 – Table

Table

This week I created a table in Maya, a more complicated process than creating a vase. I found this challenging as the reference images show the table from awkward angles and I therefore couldn’t simply trace the table outline like I did with the vase. I also struggled to figure out how to join all the pieces together but after some online tutorials I was able to join it all together properly.

Assignment 1

For assignment 1 we have to model, UV unwrap, texture and real-time render either a:

  • Windmill
  • Mantel Clock
  • Treasure chest & treasure
  • Sword & shield
  • Sci-Fi door
  • Old Well
  • Magic Witch / Wizard Staff

 

After looking at this list I immediately knew I wanted to create a wizard staff and I started thinking about what kind of design I wanted. It did not take me long to realise I wanted to create a dragon themed wizard staff. Next week I will start looking at inspiration for my design.
