Colour
During this week we looked at adding colour to our world and to first gain an understanding of colour theory we looked at scenes from animated films or shows and created colour scripts. Below are the three colour scripts I created using scenes from Adventure Time.
To do these I used photoshop and colour picked each tone and hue in the image, then placing that colour below the image. By doing this I saw how this show uses softer tones rather than vibrant ones. I used three scenes with very different atmospheres and colour schemes as I wanted to see how colour can affect the moods for each scene. I chose scenes of calmness, cheerfulness and sadness.
Next, after learning about the different types of colour schemes, we were tasked with redrawing one of our earlier thumbnails and using one of the types of colour schemes. Below shows how I used an analogous colour scheme of blues and purples to create an ice crystal design for my world.
Finally, we had to produce two coloured drawings of the same scene but with different atmospheres. I used bright colours of green and blue to create a calm scene and for the other I used darker tones of blues, greens and greys to create an atmosphere of fear.
From doing these tasks I see how colour and different types of colour schemes can affect the mood of the scene.
