Week 7 // Bouncing Ball + Team World

This week we learnt how to animate a ball bouncing! I was really excited to learn because the last time I tried to do this, it didn’t turn out so good :’D

First we started with making a ball drop and adding squash and stretch to it! At the start I thought it was a little confusing because I wasn’t sure when to stretch it or how long to stretch it for but Aodhan explained it really well and I like how it turned out:

Next, we animated a ball with an arc while bouncing! I really liked doing this and I’m happy I was able to make it look like it was bouncing :))

For homework, we had to do another animation for a ball. This time, we had to make the ball look either heavy or light! I decided to make mine look heavy because the other balls were bouncy.

After this, we worked on our group world project. My final team included me, Kennie, Stef, Charlie, Rebecca and Karl! Together we came up with the final idea that our world was going to be called ‘Glitched’: The main character at the start gets sucked into his tv and goes through all these different channels which progressively glitch more and a void follows him! We liked this idea because it meant all of us could draw in our own art styles :)) We kind of had an idea to do something similar to the short ‘Clicker’ but also include elements from Learning with Pibby!

To keep it all cohesive, we decided to all draw drafts of what we think the main guy would look like and from there we could all pick characteristics of him that we all liked. This was the character which I drew:

In our server, I also made different channels for each world so everyone could upload all of their sketches! I uploaded my mood board as well just to show what I wanted my world to look like:

I also had done a character sketch beforehand, and decided to try another one!

After this, I kinda merged parts from the second design onto my first one to get one of my final characters!
