This week I was looking at form and shape of my favourite animated characters. King Ghidorah has a realistic rendered look with many shapes and details which can make it difficult to break him down into basic shapes. Close up, I spotted cubes and a cylinders for the head. On a full body view I found rectangles for his legs and body, triangles for the feet and heads, large trapeziums for the wings and cylinders for the necks and tails.

Lord Shen was a fun character to look at shape wise because its ‘simple but effective’ as they say. He consists of a cylinder for the neck, semicircle for the tail and back of the robe, circle for a head, triangle for the wings, feathers, beak and a trapezium for the bottom part of the robe.

Bayonetta has a female human shape with some exaggerated features for example, her head is smaller and her legs are longer. She has connected cylinders for the arms and legs, triangles for feet, oval head. If you look at her overall shape with her clothes, she is shaped like a triangle on a rectangle, triangles and kites were a huge motif in Bayonetta 2 and her design reflects that as well.
