This week I continued working on the production of my animation by creating a background. A bioluminescent forest in a dangerous red hue.

Since its a bioluminescent world from the radioactivity I decided to insert glowing veins in the tree bark and some fungi. I also wanted to add extra depth by using the gaussian blur tool to fade out the trees and plants in the background and foreground.

I was given feedback to include more glowing components like the fungi as they were looking lack lustre in the whole shot.

This is my final background design for this animated scene. I took into account some of the feedback and overall believe I improved on this landscape.

The ground angle of the forest. Where the villain will be positioned.

This is a mood board for this forest design.

When playing around with the hue wheel, I realised that pulsing veins in the trees might look cool in the end animation.

I played around with a few different colour themes for the forest just to see if they would look good for the final design. However, I did not choose them as they did not suit the vibe of my scene.

This is the animatic.
