Animating balls with different bounces was the task for this week. I used Adobe Animate for this. Timing is very important when it comes to successful animations, I can tell when something doesn’t look right and so I’ve applied that to my animations.

For the first animation, I wanted a very bouncy ball so I gave it a lot of momentum from the start. I made it bounce from wall to wall and slowly lose energy by the end. When it was moving fast I made the ball more distanced from each previous frame, the ball slightly stretched, and when it was slowing down I did the opposite and had them be spaced closer together or overlapping, this is displayed very well on the potential energy at the top of an arc, where its the slowest. With this one, I went with a straight-ahead approach to animating.

This was a regular bouncing ball with some slight exaggerations to make it look more animated and squishy.

A bowling ball was the reference for this drop. I noticed that the ball has a slight bounce to it before it rolls away.
