for the third week, i was a lot more familiar with blender than i originally felt, however there was still a lot more to learn and get used to. in this week’s class, we learned a lot more new techniques to 3D modelling as we started off making models of a milkshake and a flower pot. i learned a new technique of using bezier curves as a means of getting more rounded shapes for my models, which came in handy for the stem of the flower.
using these techniques, i moved onto the assigned task for this week which was to create a 3D model of the Pokemon “Zubat”. in order to get the more abnormal shapes of the Pokemon, i used the mirror technique so that i didnt have to repeat what i did on the other side and deal with it looking slightly odd. i also used other techniques, such as using the solidify modifier on a plane to create the wings and using the knife tool to cut the actual shape of them, along with the subdivision tool to create more rounded features on the model. after i was done creating the model and adding materials to it, i then made a short animation of the Pokemon flying around the scene.
