Overall I’m really happy with the final model, there are minor errors and things I’d like to fix later if I were to use this for a portfolio. There’s a bake issue in the curvature map on the fence UVs and I’m not quite sure I like that the tiles on the cone shaped roof are intersecting with each other near the top. I’m glad I decided to stick with my initial plan of sculpting details onto the model, e.g. the rocks on the grass and wear/grain on wood and I think that combined with the texturing it really brings the diorama together and adds more personality.

Introducing sculpting to my workflow was a challenge, I had to go back and forth fixing UVs and their placement and rebaking the high poly to low poly many times to fix issues I spotted. Eventually, I finally figured out what I needed to change or fix with the model/UVs in order to get the result I wanted. I think without the sculpt, texturing would’ve been difficult. It allowed me to use the curvature map to my advantage through using Substance’s generators to add edge wear, grain, AO, etc.
