For this week we were tasked with preparing ourselves and conducting ourselves professionally for a mock interview.
Before the interview, which had been dated to happen on the Friday of that week, I and a small group of people did mock interviews to gauge where we were in terms of interview confidence, I had already gone through several interviews in the past, so felt as though I was well equipped to give some feedback to those who weren’t feeling overly confident with their interview skills, so I ended up giving them pointers, such as the need to give a bit more information, and to always have an upright and confident position.
Once the day of the interview came, I was prepared enough in my head that I knew what I wanted out of the interview, but at the same time, I tried not to have too many expectations and to come up with as many spontaneous answers for each of the questions I was asked.
When I was mock interviewed, one of the biggest things that I needed to watch out for was that i “waddled on” a lot, and talked too much, this is something that I needed to work on.
After the “official” interview, I got some feedback on the interview, one of the questions I was asked was about what I could bring to the company, And I started to mention a story Idea that I would like to pitch to the company, however, they needed to rephrase the question, as the easy that I answered it…less appealed to the company, and more benefited myself, and as such, I needed to rephrase my answer to suit the company rather than myself, but overall, I feel as though I was felt that the interview went well, and was a success.
This week I also made a rough draft of my CV
