Week 7

This week began with me getting feedback for the previous work that I had done, I then asked what else I could do for the group in creating assets, as..by this point, unfortunately, I didn’t feel like I had done enough up to this point, so felt like pulling my weight was the best option.

In doing so, I took on some more model making, with me starting by making a syringe model, to give the world a bit more life to it, and make it seem more, “run-down” So I began with a cylinder and extruded the center of it, to make a hole in the middle of the cylinder, before going into vertex mode and extruding the middle vertex point and then bringing it out to make a point, as a reference to the end of the glass.

Then by using face mode, I extruded out the center and deleted it, giving the hole for the liquid to flow from, before then adding a cone to create the rubber section that holes the needle end, and by extruding the center out of another tube, I was able to create a syringe end, even managing to create the pointed end.

After that, I went and extruded some of the sections from the glass and opened them up to look like a handle which I then went to clean up by removing some of the edges.

The final part was to create the plunger, and by using another cylinder I shrank and extruded some of the faces to create the rubber stop, and then I quickly made the stem out of a cube and added another cylinder to create the pusher. Finally, I scaled it to the size of the human model to make it look as accurate as possible.

The next object to make was a simple can, again I just started with a cylinder and by extruding a soft selection created the base of the can, I did the same on the top, but gave it the small lip that a lot of can have.

With those two assets now finished, it was just a case of adding on the final details to the previous asset I had worked on, which was developed into a trashcan, so I started off with a sphere which I then flattened out, then using soft selection I then picked the center point and then brought it up to make a curved shape making it look more like a lid of a trash can, after that, I made used more extrusions to bring the lip of the lid down to make it easier to fit onto the trash can model.

Finally, I took a cube and made it into a handle by adding more diversions to it and using the curve tool as well as soft selection to create the look I needed.
