This week I spent working on finishing up my ax model from last week, to make it look as close to the concept art as possible, I adjusted the thickness of the handle, and then began work on the UV mapping.
The UV mapping didn’t take long as it was simple.
Next was the design of the pipes, which didn’t take long, most of the detail would be handled by the texture work, as I designed the model, I simply just extruded most of the details and finished off the model by using boolings
The next model to make was a cut log, which I ended up trying a few different techniques to get the cupped effect, at first I tried adding Vertex points to the model, but that didn’t work, so I ended up adding in edges and erasing them to create a similar effect. I might try a different technique next week, as I’m not entirely happy with this one.
