Week 6

This week finally saw me finish off some of the assets I had started, I knew my team could use a pipe for any of the buildings as it’s a small detail but an important one.

So using my new tools I made sure that when I was making the drain pipe, to add a few more edges, as this would allow me to bend the end of it, using the tools I discovered.

The next thing I needed to do was to add in the Pipe holders, which weren’t too hard to create as it was just a flat box which I used the booleans tool to create this look, before extruding the sides of the screw points. The next step was to finish off the building by working through the sketches again, the person who sketched them out in the first place, EJ, asked If we could add more details to the building, like Window Sills, and a more detailed roof, and even resketched the building to add these details in

The sills were easy to create as I just extruded underneath the windows themselves…however whilst I was doing this, I unknowingly made two of them a lot smaller than the rest of them, and Needed to fix it by just re extruding the window to be flush with the building again, and deleting the edges, then re-extruding it.

The last thing to fix was the roof, which EJ had made the 6 sides of the roof larger. This was simple to do, but I knew I’d need to account for the pipe, which again, was a simple task as all I needed to do was use the boolean tool again and create a simple hole.

The next step was to create a simple grate, which didn’t take up too much time or effort, it is a small model, I just used extrusion tools on a small block which I flattened out.

I then added glass to the building and created a small customizable sign for the whole group to use, out of a simple tube, which I flattened.

Next up would be a customizable stall, which was made by taking a box and extruding it multiple times, very simple, but the other group is going to be able to use it however they wish.

Last Up was a more complicated model which I couldn’t fully finish this week, but I managed to get the basics of it down, by again, extruding based on the face and then correcting the shape to make it look more like what I wanted the end result to be.
