After a few adjustment, I decided to to make this my final poster:

Design Process

To get me to this point, I will discuss my design process and how I created this poster. Once I discussed with Henry that my interior bedroom scene is my stronger pieces of work, I decided to change from my exterior buildings to a shot of the desk area I created.

Factors to consider:

  • Lighting
  • Shot angle
  • Room for the title
  • Colour
  • Title colour

I experimented with some shot angles within unreal Engine and tried some higher to the ceiling, closer to the desk, further from the desk. I also tried adjusting the lighting in my scene, altering things such as: higher bloom scale, dimmer bloom scale, a yellow bloom tint and adjusted the directional light to get some shadows in the scene.

Using procreate, I adjusted some details such as experimenting with the curve tool to adjust the lighting, i also added a tint of green into the poster as it really accentuated the foliage coming through the window. I also added some details such as more leaks and crack using a simple PNG and adding a multiply value to it, using this same method i added some extra dust particles to the sun beam to add a bit more realism to the poster.

I loved the yellow bloom tint, I felt it brought more realism to the scene and added a lot more depth. I also preferred the shot angle as it didn’t show the wall as much.

Dislikes

I didn’t like the as much grunge on the picture as it felt far too messy, I feel the posters could improve so I will try experimenting with different effects.

Feedback

I sent my poster to Anastasia Owens, Emma Shanks and Hannah Gordon as I wanted to get a different view and get some feedback on the overall layout of my poster. They informed me that my poster was too dark and found the title was quite hard to read. Ana gave me some advice to try turning the opacity down sightly on the grunge effect. I found this advice super helpful as I was able to get some different advice from different view points.
