As I received some feedback on my posters, I decided to change my poster from my exterior scene to my interior bedroom scene. The bedroom I created for my major project is one of the stronger pieces I have created, so I believe of should be the face of my over project.
Why the bedroom scene?
To reiterate the concept of my poster, I want to communicate with viewers that fear of the unknown, loneliness and being ‘out of a safe space’ is the emotions that should be provoked. A bedroom for a lot of people, can be a safe and private place – for my poster the bedroom scene is very open with a broken window, and con-caved roof. This almost defies what a bedroom is for people, and I believe for my poster it will be the best direction to communicate this concept with.
I have taken a few different angles and experiment with some colours for my poster using the bedroom scene. I took all of the photos in the corner of the bedroom as it includes models such as:
- Guitar
- Laptop
- Gun
The models such as the guitar and laptop represent the ‘Normal’ aspect of the room, as these are quite common things that could be found as opposed to the gun which represents danger and survival. This thought process all ties back to the feelings of fear, and how a simple bedroom can be altered to be a comforting place to a frightful place.
