Feedback reflection

After receiving some feedback for my revenge concept, I decided I wanted to stay with the concept of having an empty inhabited world as it is the main theme of my major project. Additionally I believe this concept will be the most beneficial to my poster for the End of year show. I will be focusing my attention on looking at posters that reflect a similar narrative of being ’empty’ to help give me some reference for my own poster. As a lot of the posters I have already looked at, based a lot of the attention on the character, I wanted to look for posters that focused more on the environment as I believe it will help assist me with some ideas with colours, grid layout, and typeface. I received some example during my feedback to look at as well which I found very helpful, and allowed me to see different ways a poster can be made that doesn’t include a character as the main focal point.

After some reflecting on all the posters I researched so far, I found these posters to be the the best and most relevant to my current project as they allow me to see posters mostly environment based, but still clearly communicate to the reader of the emotion that is being depicted. I wanted to take notes on the grid layouts for some of these posters to evaluate the placement of title and where it looks best.

The Last Days Poster

As ‘The Last Days’ poster is very similar to my own ideas, I looked at it in a lot more detail. In my own Major project of my post apocalyptic city I made assets such as a destroyed car which I will using as one of my main assets within the project, I really loved the placement of the Taxi in the The Last Days poster as it is an eye catching feature that communicates with the reader the true emptiness of the city. Furthermore, the placement of the buildings is another factor I am taking note of, as I don’t want the building to be overwhelming and take over the full poster.
