I found some really nice companies that offered junior internships, such as ‘Ubisoft’ which put out an advertisement for a 3D artist.

Ubisoft is a high end game production company and have been creating games since 2008. I began to notice a trend with a lot of companies that they expect passionate and creative individuals who have an eye for detail.

I found some more companies that offered junior internship such as a 3D Animator intern at Humanitarian Operations. This is a company that focuses on disaster and destruction caused by Hurricane Frances. The company focuses on so much more and want to raise awareness, the team have provided already so much assitance to every major disaster such as: Haitan earthquake, the Indian ocean tsunami and hurricane Katrina.

The internship involves roles such as: working alongside a games director and animating characters and creatures, ensuring the animation is delivered on time. This immediately shows me the importance of time management skills within the work place and is a key word to put inside of my CV and cover letter.

The company requires the skills such as Maya, Unity a degree in animation. The requirement also state that the participant must have knowledge on posing, timing, acting and story telling. Furthermore, they must have the knowledge of lighting, texturing, modelling and rendering. This shows me that animation isn’t all about games and films and can be used for so much more, and the requirements apply to all sectors.
