Before modelling the stage, I wanted to know exactly what I was modelling. I knew that I wanted the curtain to drape at each end of the stage I feel like it would look great when the dresses are imported into Unreal. I found this image that I used for reference when creating my curtain, I did have some difficulty when creating the curtains as i didn’t want them to look too blocky so I contacted Alec for some help and used a new method using deform and a sine wave pattern in Maya, this allowed me to create that curtain look that I was going for. I also wanted to ensure that I was keeping the overall model fairly low poly before sending to Ana to be UV’d and textured. So, using the sin pattern I created the draped curtain for the stage and used a simple cube to model the actual stage.
