LIGHTING MOODBOARDS
Before I begin modelling any assets in Maya, I chatted to Alec about the best direction to take with creating my Hospital scene in Unreal Engine and he informed me it was best to create the room blockout and to focus on making the lighting for the room, as lighting is one of the most important aspects to a room especially when its giving a haunted, abandoned look to it, the lighting takes on a massive role in the final product.
In my head, I immediately thought of a dark creepy room with some blue undertones to the lighting with some natural light entering through broken glass and the back of the hallway being nearly pitch black. I used this idea and began to research some inspiration and youtube videos o try and get me started. I found some great images portraying the initial idea I had in my head and I found some themes streaming through all the lighting in these creepy scenes. Furthermore, i noticed most of the lighting was dark and quite low down and some had either blue, red or green undertones that gave the creepy effect which is definitely something I want to add into my own scene in Unreal.
Here are a few images I saved of all the different lighting i liked the look of, I will use these images as inspiration.
