For my personal creative project, I am aiming towards a creepy hospital hallway idea, this will allow me to think about lighting and focus more on making the room look dark and creepy as opposed to having loads of assets. To begin I put together a few moodboards and inspiration that used for this idea and to show the direction I want to go with the final idea. I am super interested in creating horror games and feel this would give me good practice with working with low lighting and playing about the colour of lighting to make the overall project come together.

MOODBOARDS

Here are two moodboards I created on my Ipad, i wanted to put together some images from games and show the type of vibe I was leaning towards. I took a lot of my own inspiration from the game ‘Little Nightmares 2’ as they project quite a creepy vibe to their scenes and it is exactly what their game is known for. Little Nightmares uses a lot of blue dark lighting in their hospital setting and in my opinion i feel like this was the perfect way to show the scene. I have noticed a lot of shadows and areas that are completely blacked out to add some mystery to the scene, with this gives a very creepy look to the final project which is exactly what direction I would like to take my own hospital scene in Unreal Engine.

I have attached a youtube video displaying some more details about the Hospital playthrough, I have watched this a few times as I really want to look at the smaller details about the environment and how the team at this studios created this scene. I have took some screenshots of particular areas that intrigued me the most to this section.

Once I graduate, I would love to consider getting into gaming and creating these types of games. The creators of Little Nightmares use softwares such as Maya, Substance painter and Unreal Engine hence why i wanted to focus my attention on using these softwares for my own personal project.
