Dr Marc Duffy – PhD, MA (Education), PgDip, PgCert (Research), BA (Hons), CMBE, SFHEA
I am a former practitioner with management experience in heavy industry, aluminium, iron and steel-making. In industry, I travelled the world as a key account manager for Latin America’s metals processing sector. This included frequent and prolonged periods working in Mexico, Venezuela and Spain, owing to my second language skills (Spanish). I have also worked extensively in China, Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil, Belgium and Finland.
I returned to academia in 2015 as a Lecturer and to complete a PhD at Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield Business School. I progressed from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer in Strategic Management, Enterprise and Change in 2019, with a focus on applied research (Business Studies Project), Sustainable and Responsible Business and lead our commitments to the United Nations, Principles of Responsible Management Commitments (PRME).
I am now a Lecturer in the Business Engagement Unit at Ulster University, Business School, focusing on our degree apprenticeship programmes, and online courses and The Our World Matters Survey (O.W.M.S.).
