Collaboration in Action: Advancing The Sustainable Development Goals
Sustainable development thrives on collaboration, where partnerships align efforts to address global challenges. In our pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and PRME’s i5 playful learning, we are proud to spotlight three key projects from last weeks collaborations that demonstrate the power of collective action.

Climate Action & Empowering Students (SDG 13, 17)
In partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and Dr. Shqiperim Reka, we delivered a pivotal program exploring Climate Change and the Role of Northern Irish Students in Sustainable Development.
This initiative empowered students to become agents of change, equipping them with the knowledge to tackle climate challenges and contribute meaningfully to SDG 13.
The Students completed the Sustainable Food game, to understand where our food comes from, and its impact on carbon emissions.
Dr. Shqiperim Reka said, I was blown away by how much the students really got into this, and how much they led the session. At one point, I stepped back and handed over the reins to the students who led their own learning.

Sustainable Leadership Programme with Brewgooder & Podium (SDG 4, 12, 17)
Our collaboration with Brewgooder and Podium brought to life an innovative Sustainable Leadership Programme. This initiative focuses on educating leaders to adopt sustainable practices while promoting responsible consumption and production (SDG 12). Together, we are shaping leaders prepared to prioritize sustainability in their decision-making.

Engaging Degree Apprentices in Sustainability (SDG 4, 8, 17)
Sixty-nine Degree Apprentices from 12 companies joined us for a transformative experience in sustainability. Through dynamic workshops and the inaugural run of the Sustainable Leadership Game, learners deepened their understanding of SDG principles, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). This unique collaboration highlights the importance of embedding sustainability into professional development.
The Sustainable Economies Game ties in with PRME’s i5 goal of playful learning
The Impactful Five (i5): has five characteristics of playful learning and the development of five skills: cognitive, emotional, creative, social, and physical. The program will be implemented by the global network of business schools and universities of PRME. The i5 Characteristics aim to:
- Make learning Meaningful
- Facilitate Active Engagement
- Design for Iteration
- Develop supportive Social Interaction
- Foster Joy and Well-being
The Game was a huge success and our thanks go to Tess Hazelhurst who helped deliver the game, acting as the ‘market’ to control, supply, demand and pricing.

Driving Impact Through Collaboration
Each of these initiatives demonstrates how partnerships can amplify impact, combining expertise, resources, and passion to achieve the SDGs. By working together, we are building a more sustainable and equitable future—one collaboration at a time.
Finally, I have some very exciting personal news to come in relation to PRME, watch this space…
