We are reflecting on a truly fantastic Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Launch Week at Ulster University and the PRME UK & Ireland Conference at the University of Exeter Business School. The week has been a whirlwind of meaningful discussions, engaging sessions, and profound connections, all centered around the crucial mission of responsible management education.
A Warm Welcome at Exeter

Exeter was a whole new world. The University of Exeter Business School provided such a welcoming environment that it felt like a home away from home. Sometimes, you need to leave your familiar surroundings to connect with your colleagues on a deeper level, and this trip was a testament to that. The shared purpose we experienced made it clear that this was not just a professional gathering but a collective journey towards a common goal. It’s in these moments, away from our usual routines, that we get to know our colleagues better and foster stronger bonds.
Ulster University’s Strong Presence

A special thank you goes out to everyone from Ulster University Business School who made the effort to engage so deeply with PRME this week, both in Belfast and Exeter. The UK&I Conference saw much discussion about the loneliness of being an academic, but at Ulster, this is never the case. The sense of community and support within our institution is unparalleled. I don’t think any other university had as many delegates or showed as strong a presence at the conference. This robust participation underscores our commitment to PRME and highlights the collaborative spirit that defines Ulster University.
Reuniting with Sheffield Hallam University

It was also wonderful to present alongside my colleagues from Sheffield Hallam University. Reuniting with the team, including Caroline Linhares, the new SHU PRME Lead with Dr. Caroline Nanain Kom, and Dr. Olivia Ramsbottom, was an excellent experience. The synergy and shared dedication among us made the presentations impactful and reinforced the importance of collective effort in advancing PRME principles.
Gratitude to the Ulster PRME Team

Thanks to the Ulster PRME gang for making this trip so memorable and for wrapping up PRME week on such a high note. The leadership at Ulster and the accreditation team deserve special mention for their unwavering commitment to PRME. Their dedication ensures that we continue to make significant strides in promoting responsible management education.
An Invitation to Join the PRME Team

Looking Ahead: Queen’s University Belfast

We are thrilled to hear that next year’s PRME UK & Ireland Chapter Conference will be hosted by Queen’s University Belfast, under the leadership of our Vice Chair Laura Steele and her team. The anticipation is already building, and we are confident that the event will be another milestone in our journey towards excellence in responsible management education.
The Future of Ulster and PRME
The best is yet to come from Ulster University and PRME. As we continue to innovate, collaborate, and push the boundaries of responsible management education, we invite you to watch this space. Together, we are shaping a future where business practices are not only profitable but also ethical and sustainable.
In conclusion, the PRME Launch Week and the UK & Ireland Chapter Conference have been more than just events; they have been affirmations of our collective commitment to responsible management education. Here’s to more successful collaborations and impactful initiatives in the future!
