For this week’s assignment, we looked at composition and perspective in our favourite animations, and it never struck me just how much these techniques are used in my favourite shows; the use of geometric shapes such as a triangle to denote dominance, power or togetherness within a group, as well as the Golden Ratio which highlights the main points of interest, while maintaining balance within the shot.
If I were to do this assignment again, I would possibly go as far as to re-watch some of my favourite shows more closely to view more examples of perspective and composition, because when I started my studies at first, I found it difficult to differentiate an image’s perspective from its composition, and overall I found it easier to identify the golden ratio or triadic composition when it presented itself in animation more so than 1 or 2 point perspective.
