Typography and Colour
In this weeks lecture we started to learn the basics of typography, which in graphic and web design, is undoubtedly important.
“95% of the information on the web is written language. It is only logical to say that a web designer should get good training in the main discipline of shaping written information, in other words: Typography.”
Our first task was to create a design from a single letter, in this case I chose the letter ‘O’ because it is a simple shape to design around and is my initial.
The design on the left was my first attempt. I think it is a little basic- only using 2 simple shapes, a circle and line. However it is very readable and therefore functional.
The design on the right is a more abstract and involves more colour tones which I enjoy.
I think it’s more interesting to look at as the image feels slightly more dynamic.
