Blender Practise: Flower.

Edited the top edge of the vase use extrude, then applying a solidify modifier to thicken the outer ring-then bevel.

This led to the simple shape of the vase.

With subdivision modifier.

I enjoyed the aspect of the flower drooping, I carefully considered the effects of gravity with my object and how any added details on the flower will be effected similarly.

Making the leaves: Using the flat plane and the knife tool to draw my shape of the flower, confirming and deleting faces around the outline. Moving Vertices: SHIFT and V shortcut to clean faces. Also deleted any unnecessary vertices on it’s surface. I can see how this method can be used to control and form intricate shapes on already existing planes.

I added a plane, extended 2 sides outward and the untouched outer edge upward. Proceeded to bevel and change the material so it shown a slight reflection to see it’s effects. I played around with the lighting settings and I was really happy with how this came out. The reflection highlights the subtle effect of the changed colour point and could have a nice effect in later model presentation.
