Journeying Immersively
This week was all about immersive storytelling. With immersive storytelling sites – we are shifting from creating static websites, into creating dynamic websites.
Kyle taught us about micro and macro interactions, as well as telling us about what users expect from a website’s UI nowadays.
Users want:
- Immersive experiences
- Scrolling
- Animation
- Interactive data
- Live maps
These are all things that could be included within my immersive prototype, as well as the final site. To do this, I will consider the elements and actions that go into micro and macro interactions.
After this week’s lecture, I feel more equipped to be able to create an interactive, and immersive website. I will be able to consider things like triggers, rules, feedback, and loops & modes. I look forward to seeing how I can include interesting interactions within my website and prototype.
Kyle also suggested that we try to recreate an interaction we like from another website using Figma. I think this could be a good way to actually practice using the smart animate and interactive features on Figma, and so I definitely will be trying it out.
