At the beginning of the year, I had never touched 3D art, never attempted it or looked at programs pertaining to it, but I’ve just completed my first project in 3D, and though I’ve made mistakes, I am so proud of my progress!
On the first week, I found myself needing over an hour just to model a simple vase, I am confident now that I would be able to create it in a fraction of the time it took me originally! Over the duration of making my staff I made various mistakes and modelled inefficiently at various parts. I struggled building the staff from the ground up with extrusion and vertex manipulation, the branches were even more tricky, the crystal was finicky and UV unwrapping was a whole different feat I had to undertake, but it paid off.
If you had asked me at the beginning of the year if I thought I could create something decent in 3D I wouldn’t have believed you but in a short 6 weeks I’ve created something I’m honestly proud of despite it’s imperfections! I can’t wait to continue on in 3D and get better and better. I’ve improved tenfold coming from nothing!
