WEEK 9
This week we got feedback on our storyboards from the previous week, we were given critique and advice as a group and worked to rectify any issues that arose the lecturers picked up on. After getting this critique and knowing what to fix, we started refining our storyboards and making them a little neater to turn into an animatic. We changed a few transitions that didn’t line up, and fixed any glaring framing/perspective issues, but overall my group did very good.
When everyone in the group had their segments a little neater and finished, we edited it into our first animatic draft, and added the music that would go along with it. Overall I think my group did really good for a first draft – I think it reads well and is very fun to look at, and the music goes amazingly and makes it feel so cool!
FINAL ANIMATIC
MY SEGMENT OF THE ANIMATIC
I made the storyboards in CSP on a template I was provided, and to make the animatic I simply took the boxes from the CSP file and moved it into Sony Vegas to edit (I don’t know how to use after effects for any cool moving parts yet, but I’ll learn soon) I trimmed all of the frames down and timed them to fit within my time constraints (5-8 seconds) and then exported it as an mp4 video file so it could be seamlessly slotted into the final edit.
In the final animatic I changed the mouth in the final 2 frames of my shot because I liked it better slightly open.
I also finished Hazels turnaround this week, so me and Amber who are drawing him in our animations know how to draw him correctly and there are no inconsistencies in design.
