WEEK 8
This week we were tasked with creating storyboards for our linked animation, and were asked to finish finalising the designs for our animations characters and creatures. Secondly, we’re upping the complexity of our animations now, moving on from animating boucing balls to the iconic flour sack. We were asked to animate said flour sack doing an action – We were given examples of jumping / running / falling / emotion. I decided to make my little flour sack walk over to a block in its path, try half-heartedly to get over it, and then simply gving up and lying down because it got tired.
I also wanted to come to a decision with my group on the final design of Hazel, one of the characters in our world, I went through a few minor design tweaks, got input on it (I thought about giving him a shirt but when I asked for feedback we all came to the conclusion to leave that out) and then started on the final colour drafts.
I drew up Hazel and had a few colour options gathered and presented, my group thenĀ voted on which one we all liked the most and which one suited the character best. We ended up choosing 3 for his final colours.
(Yes I did actually use these as reference for the colours, yes I drew them in little dungarees.)
We were tasked on making a storyboard for our segments of the group animation too but since I had already done that this previous week I started working on refining down the storyboard and making it more concise for the animatic part instead.
