WEEK 6-7
The lecture this week introduced us to the fundamentals of animation, we went over the 12 principles of animation, and had a look into how timing and spacing is used in it. We were tasked with the job of finally trying animation and animating 3 balls of various weights boucing. We could use whatever software we wanted as long as we could animate, I used Adobe Animate for mine.
This was my attempt at a ball at a footballs weight, it was my first attempt and I was warming up with this one. my one critism (or praise, depending where you stabd) for this is that it’s too lively, it’s more like a bouncing little creature than a football.
The one below now was animated with the weight of a bowling ball in mind, I’m quite happy with this one, and feel like I captured the weight quite well!
This one was animated with a basketball in mind, it’s quite similar to the football one, but is more realistic in its movements and weight in my opinion.
All of them together.
After the animation, we were tasked with concersing with our group and organising ourselves. Since the final outcome of this project is a short animation we would all work our own seperate parts on – We had to figure out who goes where in what sequence. We also started our own basic storyboard ideas when we were put into our place in the sequence, and we’re all on a OneDrive document that we put all this information in, so we can all see eachothers storyboards if need be, and see where we’re at in our development.
My storyboard is around the middle of the sequence, and I made my part humourous and a little silly to show the dynamic the characters have with one another!
I also worked on a little bit more concept work, as we’re getting our way though wrapping up the smaller aspects of characters designs, I threw up a few similar colour concepts so we can come to a decision together on Aquas design soon.
