For week 1, we watched online lectures on shape and form. These covered the basics of shape language and how complicated shapes are constructed of smaller, simpler shapes. For this class, we had to prepare a homework where we identified the basic shapes and form of 3 animated characters. The animated characters I chose were ‘Grunkle Stan’ from Gravity Falls, ‘Shaggy’ from Scooby Doo and ‘Jinx’ from Arcane.

From this I learnt that character bodies are made up of very simple shapes and to think about the overall shape of a character before drawing it.
