This week, we were split into individual time slots for tutorials. As shown below, my time was at 11pm with Patricia, however, I was not able to attend this class due to health-related reasons. Instead, Patricia and I organized a time outside of class for them to give me feedback. This was done through email and I felt that for me, this alternative was really helpful as I can go back and read through the advice if I forget. Moreover, Patricia advised a lot of helpful points and areas that I should improve my animation. One of the ones that stood out most for me is how my character, Hedge, doesn’t have much of an up and down movement when he runs. This is something that didn’t cross my mind until it was mentioned. In addition, there were some more areas that were suggested to tweak such as how he slides for too long and that the perspective of his jump at the end is a little bit off. As advised, I plan to fix this by adding another running frame, and for the other errors, I may touch up using after effects.

Here is the current version of my animation. I have decided that I am going to follow Patrica’s advice and attempt to shorten the slide in which Hedge does, as well as adding more of an up and down moving whilst running. In addition, I have come to the conclusion that it would be best to remove the legs at the end as have a really awkward positioning in the bushes. Instead, I think I may make him fade into them instead. This might make the animation look smoother. I have also been thinking about adding other elements in the piece, maybe some sort of monster or creature? This would explain why he’s scared.
