In this post, I have included my initial storyboard, a rough animation, and then references that have helped me along the way.
Here is the storyboard that I sketched out. This was to give me an idea of what and who I wanted to include in my final animation. I feel that my storyboard is rather strong in terms of simplicity and it portrays clearly on what’s going on.
This is the final outcome of what I’ve detailed on my storyboard. Obviously, this still needs a lot of work with timing and the addition of more keyframes in order to make the animation more smooth. I plan to possibly keep the frames including the character, however, I will completely redo the background to make it transition well in After Effects.
Studying the work of Eadweard Muybridge
For my animation, I have heavily taken inspiration from the works of Eadweard’s photography- specifically the ones including walk/run cycles. Analysing these has helped me understand more about how every joint moves in this process. I have used some of his poses in order to help me animate my storyboard above. This and a mixture of photography of myself.
