Here are some of the designs I’ve been working on this week. The first two characters are based on the Dipper constellations, which are both based on the word ‘Ursa’, meaning bear in Latin. I took this concept to base these characters upon bear-like traits. Little Dipper is pretty much finished and Big Dipper is still in the works amongst the team. Below this reference sheet, I have included three variations of a design based on the constellation, Orion. In one of the myths, he carries a shield with a lion head attached and I thought it might be clever to take a more modern approach to this. Instead of it being a physical shield, Orion is able to summon his lion companion at will.
